The Costa Brava extends from just north of Barcelona all the way up to the French border. It’s characterised by its wild and rugged landscape, a few popular resorts, small fishing villages and seemingly endless miles of idyllic shoreline, hiding small bays, inlets and gorgeous coves. Here are some of our favourite secret beaches on the Costa Brava.
Platja Fonda
This beach is very close to the center of Begur, but there are not as many tourists as usually in the beaches of this town. It is a little beach surrounded by a great cliff and green water, so be prepared to climb down some stairs.
Platja El Golfet
Near the Cap Roig castle, you can find the Golfet beach. This place is a great unknown between locals and tourists. The pines give a harmonious balance to the rocky cliffs that surround Golfet. This beach, without the bustle of tourists, will be a refreshing experience for all beach lovers.
Platja de Pals
The beach of Pals forms a 5 km golden sand crescent, roughly half way it meets with the River Ter. It is the ideal spot for families, with its sandy beach, crystal clear waters and and safe swimming. If you are looking for a bit more than a laze on the beach then it is also the perfect place for some excellent snorkelling, sailing and windsurfing.
