We arrived in Cape Town on a Friday evening and immediately checked into our hotel. The hotel is a boutique in style but owned by a large corporate brand (Marriott). The lobby on the 2nd floor sits in a 8 floor tall lobby, with a restaurant and modern decor. The hotel is located in the heart of Cape Town about a block from Long Street. Given that it was a Friday we were curious to check out the nightlife off the famous Long Street, which ended up being a lot of fun (just don’t get mugged at night!).
We went up to our room and realized we had been upgraded to a larger suite. Our room contained an extra large L-shaped couch, a mini bar, a full luxurious bathroom with both a tub and a shower, and more room than we could possibly need. If only we had friends in Cape Town, we would have thrown a party in there. It is quite a modern property akin to the trendy boutique hotels we experienced in the meatpacking district of NYC. The rooftop consisted of an artificial grass seating area as well as a pool with a view of the city and the mountain landscape surrounding it. We unfortunately did not have time to enjoy that pool.
We ended up ordering a couple bottles of wine from room service to start off our night before checking out Long Street. We woke up early to enjoy the hotel breakfast, which may have been the hotel breakfast I have ever had. It included over 100 different options, such as smoked salmon, various eggs, a lot of fruits, pastries, fresh spa-style juices, and breads.
For travelers looking to party in Cape Town and stay in a trendy property, this hotel should certainly be on your radar and we highly recommend. No issues here.
