The hotel is located about 25 km from the airport and we were offered transportation by the hotel, but elected to take an Uber instead. We had arrived a few hours before check in and were given access to the showers in the hotel spa as well as the spa pool, which was quite a refreshing way to acclimate to the time zone when jet lagged. Upon check in, we were taken to our room on the club level of the Hyatt. We quickly realized why this is one of the best hotels in all of Johannesburg and recommended especially for business travelers. There was a spacious club lounge next to the elevators, which is reserved for guests on the club floor. The lounge included plush couches, a wide selection of snacks, complimentary wine in the early evening, and complimentary breakfast in the morning.

The room included a large comfortable bed, a marble bathroom with a large tub, iPod docking station, and modern furnishings. In addition to the club lounge the hotel was full with amenities, such as a full health club, in room food service, strong security, fast wifi, chauffeurs, a lobby lounge, a full spa, a pool, an outdoor terrace bar, and a top rated restaurant.

We had dinner at the oneNINEone restaurant in the lobby. It is a modern restaurant rivaling the best restaurants in New York, while showcasing South African cuisine and offering other food options inspired from other geographies, as well as providing an extensive wine list of over 170 options. The hotel is conveniently located in Rosebank adjacent to the Firs Shopping Center, affording dozens of other restaurant options within a 4 minute walk.
