We did not know what to expect when showing up to this hotel in the Bantry Bay beach neighborhood of Cape Town. We were overwhelmed from the moment we walked onto the property. It is a small 8 room intimate property that feels very homely yet modern and luxurious. A small waterfall greets you as you walk between the exterior door and the lobby door. As we checked in, champagne was poured from the small bar in the lobby. Another bottle awaited us in our room on ice.
Our room was jaw dropping. We had a view of the ocean, with a private deck and private hot tub outside as well as 2 beach chairs. Once we got the room we decided to enjoy our deck instead of be tourists outside the hotel. We could not get enough of the view and the luxury of the room, which was well appointed with fine furnishings that reminded us of a Malibu beach mansion. We then began to smoke a cigar on our deck while watching the sunset.
The property’s amenities included a pool in the lower level, a spa, complimentary breakfast at the on site private restaurant. Also recommend going to a beachside “sundowner” restaurant to watch the sunset in Camps Bay. On Sundays, Cafe Caprice is the go to spot – a fun party that starts late afternoon before sunset and goes until late.
We will definitely be back here and look forward to relaxing at the O On Kloof again very soon.
