Just a couple of weeks ago, YGenMag had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful SLS Baha Mar located on Cable Beach in Nassau, Bahamas. The property is exquisite with its’ chic rooms and residences, two luxurious pools, world renowned restaurants, and a plethora of upscale bars (including a sky bar). We’d also like to mention the tremendously helpful concierge, stylist Bond night club, and relaxing ESPA spa. The property is located amongst the expansive Baha Mar complex featuring the largest casino in the Caribbean and a Jack Nicklaus Signature G olf Course.
Upon arrival by the complementary hotel-provided Mercedes shuttle service, we were graciously greeted by the staff and managed where we were notified that our Premier Ocean View One-Bedroom Residence was available immediately, despite arriving at 9:00am. The Residence was contemporary and sophisticated while abundantly spacious – featuring two bathrooms, a full kitchen, living area, and private terrace overlooking Cable Beach.

Though the designated beach area for the resort complex was fairly crowded, it was nonetheless breathtaking (we would recommend getting up early to reserve a lounge chair by the water). We were pleasantly surprised to discover a multitude of complimentary water activities, including: kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, amongst others. To escape the crowds on the beach, we also had the opportunity to take a private boat over to a more secluded island beach, where we were able to find several other activities such as swimming with dolphins or stingrays.
Although we were not terribly impressed by the food trucks along the beach during the day, we did have an unparalleled experience dining at many of the distinguished restaurants on the property in the evenings, including: Katsuya by Starck Baha Mar, Carna by Dario Cecchini, and Fi’lia by Michael Schwartz. At Katsuya, a sleek and unique sushi restaurant, we were impressed by the carefully crafted cocktails and fresh fish. We were equally impressed at Carna by the beef carpaccio and dry-aged steaks (not to mention, the truffle Mac and Cheese) & at Fi’lia, by the expansive wine list and cacio e Pepe. Not only was the food outstanding across all three restaurants, the service was impeccable as well.
You may have heard the rumors that SLS Baha Mar is somewhat of an ‘adult playground’ and we can certainly confirm that was the case. The Sky Bar was stylish and lively, with outstanding views of the island while sipping on creative cocktails and mingling before heading over to Bond Nightclub, where we were able to experience an upscale nightlife atmosphere. We were also able to enjoy the Casino, Jazz Bar, and many designer shops, including Rolex, Tiffany and Co., Hermès, and more.
We certainly would recommend SLS Baha Mar and are looking forward to returning!
