During a recent trip to Bogota, Colombia, YGenMag stayed at likely the most luxurious property in all of Colombia, the Sofitel Bogota Victoria Regia Hotel, a 5-star hotel. The property is immaculate, with its French design and red brick façade, and the service is excellent. Upon arrival, the manager personally gave us a tour and, as we had no knowledge of the area, suggested a number of restaurants and spots to check out nearby. The Sofitel is located in Zona Rosa, which can be characterized as the Beverly Hills of Colombia – very high end neighborhood with all of the accoutrements you would expect. It is a quiet neighborhood yet nearby reknowned restaurants, art galleries, shopping and key business centers. It is also a convenient 15-30 minute cab to any of the key destinations in Bogota such as the La Candelaria, the historic center of Bogota.
The Four Seasons hotel group is building a property next door, which may give it some competition, but otherwise we could not find a better property in Bogota.
The room was luxurious with the modern French design sensibilities that the Sofitel is known for. Super comfortable bed, with a marble bathroom, mini bar (reasonably priced actually), fast WiFi, and a selection of nuts accompanying a handwritten note from the hotel. I must also mention the hotel provides Hermes body products – a very special detail. Some rooms even come with terraces. As for space, our Superior Room had 312 square feet. The junior suites have 536 square feet.

We also found a nice living room adjacent to the lobby which also served as the business center. Did not mind hanging out in here.
In a future post, we will talk about our experience in Bogota and the culture, food, nightlife, and adventure we experienced. Below was our view from the top of Mount Monserrate, a must see for any first time visitor to Bogota.
