Review: The Reefs Resort and Club in Southampton, Bermuda

While international travel hasn’t been easy, or even possible, during the global pandemic – YGenMag recently traveled to Bermuda (one of the few countries allowing US citizens) and stayed at the fabulous Reefs Resort & Club in Southampton, Bermuda.

Although The Reefs Resort might be considered a little further away from the airport (~35 minutes) and the ‘major’ towns of Hamilton or St.George’s than other options – YGenMag thought it was totally worth it! The Reefs Resort is located right on a cliff alongside the ocean, on its own private pink sand beach.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with complimentary rum swizzles and a complimentary upgrade to one of their junior suites. The suite was fantastic, with a king-sized bed, living area, mini-fridge, spa-grade shower and jacuzzi, and a balcony just steps away from the ocean. We were provided water bottles, beach towels, and bathrobes and the room was impeccably clean.

The property was equally, if not more, wonderful. The private beach was adorned with Bermuda’s famous pink sand and crystal clear blue waters. They provided us with complimentary kayaks and paddle boards. There were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas, though it did not feel overcrowded and we were pleased by the beach-side service.

Aside from the beach, the resort had a magical infinity pool overlooking the ocean. We also had the pleasure of dining at one of the two restaurants at the resort called Coconuts. The restaurant not only had a great bar and tables in the sand, but we enjoyed the food too. We would highly recommend the mussels and fish tacos! The other restaurant was only open for breakfast due to Covid-19, but we enjoyed that quite a bit too. We were able to order anything we wanted off the a la carte menu, and found the eggs and waffles to be amazing.

Overall, we could not have been more pleased with The Reefs Resort & Club. We’re looking forward to returning sometime soon!
